Rahul Tandon, DMD, MD
Meet Oral Surgeon Dr. Tandon
Originally from Kentucky, Dr. Rahul Tandon completed is undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh, and then returned to the University of Kentucky for dental school. After completing his dental degree, he was then selected as the Philip J. Boyne/Peter Geistlich oral and maxillofacial surgery research fellow at Loma Linda University. He continued this role for 3 years, where he published numerous articles, wrote multiple book chapters, lectured at national meetings, and helped developed numerous research protocols.
After completing his fellowship, he was then accepted into the well-known University of Texas Southwestern/Parkland Memorial Hospital oral & maxillofacial surgery residency program. After obtaining his medical degree from UT Southwestern medical school, he then completed his general surgery internship, where he also underwent extensive training in both pediatric and adult anesthesia. He then resumed his oral surgery training where was trained in all facets of oral & maxillofacial surgery, including orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting, head and neck cancer removal, temporomandibular joint disorders, and facial cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Tandon recently moved to Western suburbs of Chicago with his wife and four children. His hobbies include spending time with his family, reading about American history (particularly, presidential biographies), and enjoying the great Chicago sports culture. Although he is now in private practice, Dr. Tandon continues to publish research articles and remains active in the most up-to-date academic literature.
